At Gulu Private Resort, each of our four distinctive venues offers its own charm blending comfort, style, and the beauty of our natural surroundings. Whether you’re dreaming of a riverside ceremony, a vibrant celebration under open skies, or an intimate gathering by the fire, we have the perfect space to bring your vision to life.

The Reception
A rustic riverside haven designed for elegant celebrations. Featuring long wooden tables, a character-filled bar, and handcrafted Oregon pine furniture, this venue comfortably accommodates up to 100 guests.

The Chapel / Glass Venue
A breathtaking 180-degree glass-walled space with panoramic river views, offering a seamless indoor-outdoor experience. Ideal for intimate weddings, bachelorettes, and children’s celebrations of up to 60 guests.

The Braai Lapa
A cozy and secluded retreat with two braai areas, a spacious deck, and a relaxed atmosphere perfect for baby showers, private gatherings, and year-end functions.

Each venue includes essential amenities to ensure a seamless event experience, from cutlery and crockery to solar-powered electricity and atmospheric lighting.

Customising Your Event
We believe your event should reflect your unique style. You are welcome to arrange your own décor, flowers, setup, and breakdown, or select from our recommended service providers.

For clients who prefer assistance, we offer setup and breakdown services at R40 per person. Access for set-up is available between 08:00 and 18:00 one or two days prior to your event. Kindly note that no deliveries or set-up are permitted after 18:00. Our team will assist only if the set-up service has been selected.


Bar Options – Tailored to Your Needs
No matter which venue you choose, our bar options are designed with flexibility in mind:

Full-Service Cash Bar
Enjoy a seamless, cashless experience with card facilities available. Guests may also open a tab using their name and room or cell number. (No cash is kept on-site.)

Client-Supplied Beverages
Prefer to bring your own drinks? A bar usage fee of R5,000 includes two professional bartenders. Should you wish to use your own bar team, a reduced fee of R4,200 applies. (No sales permitted.)

Guest-Supplied Beverages
Guests may bring their own beverages at a corkage fee of R80 per cooler box. A designated cooler box area is provided to maintain the aesthetic of your event.

Please note that our staff are responsible for clearing and cleaning only. Canapé waiters and additional staff can be arranged at an additional cost.


The Conference Room
Set alongside our tranquil river, the conference room offers a peaceful and inspiring setting for productive meetings and gatherings. Outdoor benches provide the perfect space for refreshing coffee and tea breaks immersed in nature.

Pricing & Important Information
Minimum 4-hour venue hire applies, with additional hourly rates thereafter.
Pricing varies depending on guest numbers, selected venue, and additional services.
Generators are available on standby if required, with usage costs deducted from the refundable security deposit.


All venues require a refundable breakage deposit in addition to venue hire.
